What started with a simple recording session quickly grew into a much deeper creative collaboration. After our first session, we connected naturally and Hillary chose to continue developing her entire EP with me.

The project brought together five tracks created in very different contexts, with several producers and different stages of development. The challenge was to make these distinct pieces feel like one project while keeping each song’s personality. We worked on vocal recording and production, mixing and mastering, as well as developing two new tracks with a producer I connected her with.

One of the tracks was revisited almost entirely: originally recorded and mixed on a type beat, it had never quite found the natural, organic feel Hillary was looking for. Together, we reshaped it to better reflect her sound.

To bring the project together, I also created a short musical introduction by reworking and combining the strongest instrumental moments from the five tracks. The resulting 1m30 piece became a condensed introduction to the EP, giving a glimpse into its different worlds before leading into Hillary’s voiceover.
